Watched this movie with Pj, Qi and Xinxin @ Cineleisure yesterday night and I think it's pretty awesome. I'm gald Pj jio us to the movie because I has the intention if watching it after I read the review of this movie on Life!. Although the review said that the movie is not as good as the book, the plot seems pretty interesting. A 3.5/5 star doesn't seem that bad either.

Here's a short introduction of the movie, which I extracted from Yahoo! Movies.

"Based on the bestselling novel by Patrick Suskind, "Perfume" is a story of murder and obsession set in 18th-century France. Jean-Baptiste Grenouille has a unique talent for discerning the scents and smells that swirl around him, which he uses to create the world's finest perfumes. Strangely lacking any scent of his own, he becomes obsessed with capturing the irresistible but elusive aroma of young womanhood."

The first thought that ran through my mind while watching the movie is the male leader, who is also the murderer, is a true SICKO. When he accidentally killed the first victim, he seems stunned. However, what he did to the dead body is super disgusting. I shall not go into much detail. Just mark this word- SICK!

After the first murder, he knew that his brutal aggressiveness for smell must be controlled. Thus, he wants to find a way to contain smell. By chance, he got his chance to learn the art of making perfume under his second master. There he learnt distillation, which is used in making essences. One day, he even tried to distil a cat…which is totally insane!!! In the later part of the movie, he tried more insane experiments to find a smell..a smell of his own. And he did found it (which is the body scent of women). Then the killings start.

His second master once told him there a very famous perfume which is made from 13 essences. Each essence has its own base and each of it has a different scent. Only 12 bases could be identified; the 13th base remained as a mystery. (actually this part I’m not very sure cos my mind sorta drifted away for awhile and it’s kinda hard to catch what they are saying when I kor-ear and there’s no subtitles =X) And this guy did his masterpiece in this 13 bases style. This mean he has to kill 13 people in order to achieve the 13 bases. With these 13 bases, he will mix each of it in different portion to create the ultimate perfume. =.=!

The power of his ultimate perfume is super duper powerful which I find it super crap. It has the scent of innocence (got such smell meh?!?) and when the murderer used the perfume on himself, those people seen his as an angel (even more crap =.=) . After that, those people who smell the scent of that perfume lost their sanities and did something which is really against morality.

Personally I think its ending is too ridiculous…too ridiculous for it to happen. I know movie is fiction…fake… yes I know but really too doink le. Nevertheless, despite of the sickening killings, I think the movie is very intriguing. The way it is directed made the movie captivating… drawing all your attention into its story. After the movie, flashes of the movie kept replaying in my mind and there’s some parts of the movie will set you thinking. Thus, I have problem getting to sleep last night > < !

Catch this movie on the big screen while it’s still up bah. It’s only available at major cinemas such as Vivocity, Lido, Cineleisure etc. Btw, it’s a R21 show so those below 21 of age cannot go hor~ (okay lah...I'm old liao~~~~ T.T)

WhY Can'T TheY StanDarDiSe???
Have you guys even wonder why does the computer number keypad doesn't follow the same number sequence as the telephone's???

Well, I have no idea but I will often will ponder on this question during office hours. The reason being is that I often key the wrong numbers loh >< . I've make tons of phonecalls and key tons of data everyday at work and it can be quite frustrating at times. Sometimes when I'm keying numbers on the keyboard, I do it the telephone style. Sometimes when I'm dialling numbers on the phone, I do the keyboard style. Really doinkness =.=!! I admit I'm lousy lah...such simple stuff also can get confused but wouldn't it be nice if the numbers pads are standardised for all??

Okay I know that wouldn't happened. I'm just being bo liao =X

Pirate King Online

For those who didn't know, I have stopped playing maple for quite some time and I'm playing this new game called the Pirate King Online. It's a 3D designed multiplayer online game and I find it quite fun. Started out this game with Zy and being new to this kind of 3D game really made me feel helpless. Why neh?? I kept losing my way in the game..a total direction-less road idiot >< . After playing for weeks, I finally can find my way through the game, with the use of various information sites =X. There's always ton of quests to do and you can even build a ship to sail in the sea! Thus, I think there's more stuff for gamers to venture and explore in this game, compared to maple. Interested parties can visit it here. If you really wanna try it out, please select 'Cabin' server cos I'm playing that server. Kekeke~

Here are some of the screenshoots of the game.

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.
What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

Seen this particular test in Zy's blog and decided to try it out. It's a very short one(5min or less).

Yoz people~ I’m back from Bangkok already. For those who don’t know, I was in Bangkok from 30-12-2006 to 3-01-2007. Thanks for everyone’s concern regarding our safety in Bangkok. I’ve received quite a number of SMSs and phonecalls from friends and family and I really appreciated it because it isn’t cheap to send SMSs and call over. In fact, I received that much SMSs and phonecalls that my phone was low batt at the end of Day 3 (usually my phone can tahan more than 5 days de). And I feel so bad that I continued to let my phone be ‘dead’ till I return to Singapore. Why? It’s because when I reached Singapore Changi Airport, I received lotsa caller alert SMSs. Paiseh to make everyone so worried =X

--Ting’s BirthdaY--
Right before we set off to Bangkok, we celebrated the last birthday of the year of LaDiEsWitZ – Ting’s birthday. We went to this Japanese Restaurant @ this ulu place (well, to me =X) @ King’s Arcade. Upon reaching the restaurant, I’m surprised. The whole restaurant was filled with men in black polo tees!! Apparently those were the Air Force people and they were having some dinner gathering there. That only left us with a few scattered tables to accommodate us. And hence we had to separate ourselves into different tables. I was sitting with Seng, Gan and Pj back then.

Some of the food we had. So much?!? Well, we were having the buffet dinner, which is kinda bohua for me cos I don’t take sashimi.

People @ our table. Pj as the photographer. In fact, 85% of the pics taken on that day were taken by her. Saw something scary? =X

The birthday girl with Huiqi’s and Sisi’s (& maybe some more ppl?) pressie~ The blue necklace.

Our pressie to Ting- Fossil Watch

After dinner, we went to somewhere to drink tehs and milo dinosaurs. Then Gan was saying Seng and Qi looked compatible. Thus I took a pic of them and said “This will appeared in my blog wor~” Then they snatched my cam and see and requested for more snaps. Lol~ so here it go ~ (haha..i post all =X)

--Bangkok--

I try to make it a short one. The rest will be photos and some descriptions bah.

Destination: Bangkok
Travelling period: 30/12/06 – 03/01/07
Travel companions: Cin, Qi, Ting & YS
Hotel Stayed: Eastin Hotel, Bangkok
Airline: Tiger Airways
Places visited @ Bangkok:
Day 1: Platinum Fashion Mall
Day 2 : Chatuchak Market (JJ Market)
Day 3 : World Trade Center/ Siam Paragon/ MBK/ Suan-Lum Night Market
Day 4 : Chinatown and the Memorial Bridge Night Market
Day 5: Platinum Fashion Mall

Day 1

First meal @ Bangkok!!! This is my mee

and their bee hoon

Yummy~ this is by a roadside stall near our hotel.

After that it’s all shopping around Pratunam area and Platinum. We shopped till most of the shops were closing down and then decided to take our dinner at its food court. One thing I dislike about Thai dining culture is that some of the eateries practise the coupons/pre-paid cards system. This mean you have to go and use real money and buy some of these coupons or cards in order to buy food from these food stalls, which is kinda troublesome.

Day 2

We met at around 6am to have breakfast in the hotel before setting out to Chatuchak Weekend Market. It’s awesome. You can find anything over there. We spent 9-10 hours over there and I think we didn’t even cover ½ of the place.

Guess what is this??

Front View

*Dang Dang*

Side View.Cute hor?

This was the crowd in the toilet. I think Qi and me queued for more than 20min for it loh. Not I wanna complain but there’s this si auntie very bad. Super baddie. Qi and me were queuing for let’s say 10min for a particular cubical and this si auntie cut our queue. Ok.. cut queue nevermind but you know what happened after that? After she came out, she blah-ed some thai and point to the toilet and then walk away. I think she was trying to tell us the TOILET CANNOT BE USED!!!!! Wth… Then Qi and me had to queue elsewhere. Super doink sia~

After that we went back to hotel to prepare for the gala dinner. Theme was “Back to the 70’s”. It was then we learnt of the bombing news, which greatly affected my appetite >< . Thus we retired to our rooms quite early and rest.

Day 3

Went to a couple of high end shopping malls and they are hugh. This was the day I spent the MOST amongst all... about 5k baht bah.

Trying to imitate him =X

After that we went to MBK but we didn't spend much time there. Next was Suan-Lum Night Bazzar.

Suan-Lum is quite nice to shop too. However you really need to bargain alot as they jack up the prices too high. Did foot massage over there too and it's quite cheap also. 199 baht (SGD8++) for an hour and it's really an enjoyment. I like the idea of watching performances while eating and drinking too. There are people singing and dancing on the stage and it's quite entertaining. The songs they sang are nice too.The biggest issue about Suan-Lum is that there's too much mosquitoes =X .

Day 4

No photo taken. I think the main reason is that I super don't like Chinatown. Super super crowded and that day I wasn't feeling very well. Had a bad tummyache. Ate some seafood over there and it's not really that fantastic from I've heard. After that, we went back to the hotel and later of the night Ting, YS and me went for Traditional Thai Massage. It was quite okay lah...not as shiosk as I thought it would be. Despite that, I think I actually fell asleep in the midst of massaging. Hahaha..think YS also.

Day 5

More shopping at Platinum before we left.

Our baggages =X There's alot for 5 people! One big disadvantage of budget airline is that you can only check in 1 baggage and it must not exceed 15kg. Furthermore, you can only hand carry 1 personal bag, 1 more piece of baggage and 1 lap-top bag. Super not good >< . Next time travel by the normal airline so u can check in more baggages and save the hassle of carrying so many things around in the airport. Better right?

That’s about all. K lah… blog till wanna faint le. Stop here!
